Ukraine's food market is expected to remain under pressure in the coming months, with prices for a number of essential food products continuing to rise. According to industry experts, the main drivers include inflation, higher energy costs, logistics expenses, labor costs, and increasing production inputs. Weather conditions are also expected to influence price dynamics by affecting crop yields.
The strongest price increases are expected for bread, meat, dairy products, selected vegetables, and cereals. Producers continue to pass higher production costs on to consumers as expenses for fuel, electricity, feed, fertilizers, and labor increase. At the same time, the arrival of the new harvest may temporarily ease price pressure on certain fruits and vegetables.
Weather-related risks remain another important factor. Drought and unusually high temperatures across Ukraine and Europe have affected grain, oilseed, and vegetable production, increasing the cost of agricultural raw materials. Domestic food prices also continue to be influenced by wartime challenges, labor shortages, and logistics constraints.
Analysts do not expect a sharp increase across all food categories at once. Instead, the most likely scenario is a gradual rise in prices depending on seasonal supply, harvest results, and broader economic conditions. For the agricultural sector, this means continued pressure from rising production costs, while consumers should prepare for a gradual increase in the prices of everyday food products.
