In Ukraine, the cost of phytosanitary inspections is expected to increase, which will directly impact agricultural exports and business expenses. The new tariffs are being introduced as part of updated control procedures in plant quarantine and alignment with EU standards.
What will change in numbers:
— inspection costs are set to rise in 2026
— basic laboratory tests cost UAH 140–215
— immunoassay analysis — from UAH 550
— PCR testing — from UAH 1,150
— certificates are issued within up to 8 hours
— validity period — up to 14 days
Phytosanitary control is mandatory for exports, as it confirms the absence of pests and diseases in the products. Therefore, any increase in tariffs directly affects the final cost structure.
Simply put, exporters will have to pay more for inspections, which means they will need to plan expenses more carefully and factor them into product pricing. At the same time, this is a step toward stricter standards and alignment with European market requirements.
