Ahead of the 2026 sowing season, Ukrainian farmers focused on purchasing machinery that directly improves field efficiency and helps reduce production costs. According to the AGRO RIA study, the highest demand was recorded for tractors, seed drills, tillage equipment, sprayers, and trailed machinery, making these categories the primary investment priorities for agricultural producers.
One of the main market trends was the desire to maximize operational efficiency. Faced with high machinery prices and limited investment budgets, many farms opted for versatile equipment capable of performing multiple field operations while also offering lower operating costs and compatibility with precision farming technologies.
The study also highlights continued demand for used agricultural machinery. Many producers preferred pre-owned equipment from well-known international manufacturers, valuing the balance between purchase price, durability, and service availability. At the same time, interest in Ukrainian-made machinery has been growing, supported by the government's 25% reimbursement program.
According to industry experts, current purchasing patterns reflect a shift in investment priorities. Rather than selecting the most expensive equipment, farmers are increasingly choosing machinery that delivers a faster return on investment, improves productivity, and helps optimize costs under challenging economic conditions.
