Ukraine's 2026 harvest campaign continues to gain momentum. As of July 21, farmers had harvested 1.34 million hectares, representing about 11% of the planned area, and collected 5.47 million tonnes of early grains and legumes. The average yield currently stands at 4.09 tonnes per hectare, indicating a solid start to the season.
The largest contributions to total production have come from three regions. Odesa has harvested 1.6 million tonnes, Mykolaiv 1.3 million tonnes, and Dnipropetrovsk more than 1 million tonnes of grain, making them the leading regions in the 2026 harvest campaign.
Wheat and barley account for the largest share of production so far, with 2.6 million tonnes of wheat and 2.56 million tonnes of barley already harvested. Farmers have also collected 301,000 tonnes of peas, while the rapeseed harvest is progressing with nearly 430,000 tonnes already gathered. Harvesting activity is expected to accelerate further as more regions complete field operations.
Analysts believe the first harvest results provide encouraging signals for the 2026 season. However, final production volumes will depend on weather conditions, the progress of harvesting later crops, and the continued reliability of Ukraine's logistics network, which remains essential for maintaining grain exports.
