Ukraine is strengthening its position in the global frozen raspberry market and could become the world’s largest exporter by total volume in the 2026/27 season. The country has been the global leader in net frozen raspberry exports since 2024, while current conditions in the European berry market are creating additional opportunities for further growth.
During the 2025/26 season, Ukraine exported 63.3 thousand tonnes of frozen raspberries, up 7% year-on-year. Export revenues surged by 65% to a record €250.8 million, while the average export price increased by 54% to €3.96/kg. Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany remained the main destinations for Ukrainian raspberries.
The new season has also started with strong prices. In June, Ukraine exported 2.15 thousand tonnes of frozen raspberries at an average price of €4.14/kg. At the same time, Ukraine’s main competitors are facing significant production problems: Serbia is experiencing one of its weakest raspberry harvests in decades, while plantations in Poland were damaged by spring frosts.
Ukraine’s growing focus on autumn raspberry varieties provides another competitive advantage by extending the harvesting and processing season. According to the Ukrainian Berries Association, current market conditions create a favourable export window for the sector. Producers and processors are therefore advised to plan berry procurement in advance and secure export contracts early to take advantage of potentially strong demand in the 2026/27 season.
