Ukraine's wheat market remains under pressure due to weak import demand and intense competition in the global grain market. One of the main factors is the aggressive pricing strategy of Russian exporters, whose lower offers have enabled them to win a larger share of international tenders and strengthen competition for buyers.
Additional pressure comes from the start of the harvest across the Northern Hemisphere and expectations of strong wheat production in several exporting countries. Many importers are delaying major purchases in anticipation of further price declines, keeping demand for Ukrainian wheat subdued and forcing exporters to adjust procurement prices.
At the same time, Ukrainian exporters continue to face higher logistics costs, limiting their ability to reduce export prices without sacrificing profitability. This weakens the competitiveness of Ukrainian wheat in key destination markets, particularly across the Middle East and North Africa.
Analysts expect the market to remain volatile in the coming weeks. Future price movements will depend on harvest progress, production volumes in major exporting countries, and the pace of international buying. If global demand remains weak and competition from Russian wheat continues, Ukrainian export prices are likely to stay under pressure.
