As of 14 August 2026, Ukraine had exported 3.093 million tonnes of grains and pulses since the beginning of the 2026/27 marketing year, representing an increase of nearly 10% compared with the same period last season. Including flour converted into grain equivalent, total exports reached 3.097 million tonnes.
Corn has been the main driver of export growth. Shipments reached 1.403 million tonnes, up almost 70% year-on-year, making corn Ukraine's largest exported grain at the start of the season. In contrast, wheat exports declined to 1.291 million tonnes (–14.9%), while barley exports fell to 339 thousand tonnes (–26.8%). No rye exports have been recorded so far.
Despite the stronger cumulative performance, export activity slowed sharply in August. During the first two weeks of the month, Ukraine shipped only 348 thousand tonnes of grains and pulses abroad, significantly less than during the same period last year. Analysts attribute the slowdown primarily to disruptions in Black Sea logistics and continued constraints on maritime exports.
Exports of value-added products have also weakened. Since the beginning of the season, Ukraine has exported only 3.2 thousand tonnes of flour, nearly 48% less than a year earlier. This indicates that logistics challenges continue to affect not only grain shipments but also exports of processed agricultural products.
