During the first half of 2026, Ukraine exported $12.5 billion worth of food products, confirming the agricultural sector's leading role in generating the country's export revenue. Despite wartime challenges, logistics constraints, and strong global competition, agricultural products continue to dominate Ukraine's foreign trade.
Grains, oilseeds, vegetable oils, and processed agricultural products remained the main export categories. Ukrainian food products continued to enjoy steady demand across the European Union, the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia, helping diversify export destinations and strengthen Ukraine's position in global food markets.
According to market analysts, these results were supported by the stable operation of seaports, the expansion of alternative logistics routes, and the ability of Ukrainian exporters to adapt to changing trade conditions. At the same time, export competitiveness continues to depend on freight costs, global commodity prices, and weather conditions affecting the new harvest.
Looking ahead, export performance during the second half of the year will largely depend on harvest progress, crop yields, and international demand. If logistics remain stable and harvest expectations are met, agriculture is expected to remain Ukraine's largest export sector and one of the country's primary sources of foreign currency earnings.
