Ukrzaliznytsia has updated rental rates for selected categories of freight wagons. Effective September 1, 2026, the daily rental rate for food-grade tank wagons will increase by UAH 100 to UAH 1,600 per day (excluding VAT). The revised tariffs apply to wagons operated by the company's Transport Logistics Center branch.
At the same time, other wagon categories will see mixed changes. The rental rate for open-top wagons will decrease by UAH 100 to UAH 1,750 per day, while grain hopper wagons remain unchanged for the fourth consecutive month at UAH 3,271 per day (excluding VAT). Rental rates for type 972 flour wagons also remain unchanged at UAH 203 per day.
The increase in tank wagon rates comes during the peak transportation season for food products and processed agricultural goods. Companies relying on food-grade tank wagons will face slightly higher logistics costs, while grain exporters will not see additional rental expenses as grain wagon tariffs remain stable.
Market observers note that maintaining stable grain wagon rental rates is important for Ukraine's agricultural sector as exporters continue to face challenging logistics conditions. Meanwhile, adjustments to other wagon categories reflect current transportation demand and changing market conditions across the rail freight sector.
