Ukraine’s berry industry continues to deepen its integration into the European market. Producers are increasingly moving away from intermediary-based sales toward direct contracts with buyers in France and Germany. This approach allows exporters to improve profit margins, gain greater control over logistics, and establish long-term partnerships with European retail chains and food-processing companies.

The strongest demand in the European market remains concentrated in blueberries, raspberries, and frozen berries. Ukrainian products maintain their competitiveness thanks to high quality standards, compliance with international food safety requirements, and attractive pricing. In addition, Ukrainian growers continue to expand the adoption of GlobalG.A.P., HACCP, and other certification systems required for cooperation with major European retailers.

Logistics diversification has become a key factor supporting export growth. Despite wartime challenges, Ukrainian companies have successfully adapted supply chains through western border crossings and European logistics hubs. This has enabled reliable deliveries of fresh and frozen berry products even under difficult conditions. France and Germany remain among the most attractive destinations due to strong consumer demand and a well-developed food processing sector.

Industry experts note that direct deliveries to EU markets represent an important milestone for Ukraine’s berry sector. Beyond increasing export revenues, they encourage producers to invest in higher quality standards and modern technologies for cultivation, sorting, and storage. Over the long term, these developments are expected to strengthen Ukraine’s position as one of Europe’s leading suppliers of berry products.
