Global vegetable oil prices are entering a new upward cycle. The main drivers include higher crude oil prices, escalating tensions in the Middle East, and stronger demand from the biofuel sector, where vegetable oils are widely used as feedstock. Additional support comes from constrained supplies of certain oils and continued purchasing activity by major importing countries.

The strongest gains have been recorded in the sunflower, rapeseed, and soybean oil segments. At the same time, global markets remain highly volatile as traders closely monitor energy prices, weather conditions, and crop prospects in the world's leading producing countries. Any changes in these factors could quickly affect price trends.

In Ukraine, however, favorable global conditions have not yet fully translated into the domestic market. Demand for sunflower oil and sunflower seed remains subdued due to maritime export challenges, cautious buying activity, and expectations of new-crop supplies. As a result, domestic purchase prices continue to face pressure despite stronger international quotations.

Market analysts believe the vegetable oil market will remain highly sensitive in the coming weeks to developments in global energy markets and logistics. If geopolitical tensions persist and biofuel demand remains strong, international vegetable oil prices could receive additional support. For Ukrainian producers, however, stable export operations and efficient logistics will remain the key factors shaping domestic market conditions.
