In September 2026, the average price of agricultural land in Ukraine declined to UAH 79,728 per hectare, compared with UAH 80,326 in August. This represents a monthly decrease of UAH 598, or approximately 0.7%. Despite the slight decline, prices remain relatively stable, with the national average staying within the UAH 78,000–80,000 per hectare range for the third consecutive month.
At the same time, activity in the farmland market increased. The total area of agricultural land sold in September reached 17,347 hectares, compared with 15,122 hectares in August. This represents an increase of 2,225 hectares, or almost 15%. It was the first monthly rise following several months of declining sales volumes. However, the market has not yet returned to the March level, when 24,105 hectares were sold.
Agricultural land remains most expensive in western Ukraine and Kyiv region. Average prices reached UAH 223,029/ha in Lviv region, UAH 210,105 in Ivano-Frankivsk, UAH 140,230 in Zakarpattia, UAH 133,020 in Kyiv region and UAH 112,725 in Ternopil. Despite the September decline, farmland remains more expensive than earlier in the year. At the end of spring, the average price stood at UAH 74,528 per hectare, while the highest monthly average recorded in 2025 was UAH 70,165. The latest decline therefore does not yet indicate a sustained downward trend. The market continues to demonstrate relative price stability, a gradual recovery in buyer activity and significant regional differences.
